Random Scores

Random scores are an important part of Chartroom. What better way to test a chart than to run your event through to completion in simulation mode?

Setup

Random scores are controlled within sheet policy available in the Settings sidebar. Enter a value that reflects the maximum score plus an optional modifier, "d" for draws, "s" for singles, e.g.:

  • 25 Scores no greater than 25. No draws will be generated.
  • 17d Scores no greater than 17. Draws may be generated in pool play.
  • 21s Winning scores is always 21, e.g. bowls singles 21-shot game.
  • 17d,11 Generates an additional 'ends' score for bowls pool play, e.g. 11 end games.

Specifying draws doesn't guarantee you will get any. You may have to enter them manually.

Getting random scores

For a single round in pool play or lives play

For any team that has a game (i.e. not a bye), enter a single r and wait for the scores to fill in.

For all rounds in pool play

For any team that has a game enter rr and wait for the scores to fill in for all rounds to the right.

Lives play only: Random scores plus advance

For any team that has a game enter ra and wait for the scores to fill in and the section to advance. You can also enter ra2, ra3, etc. to advance multiple rounds in random fashion.
